You can travel from Kewaunee all the way up to Door County via the Ahnapee State Trail (http://www.ahnapeetrail.org) or explore the nearby sections of the Ice Age Trail (http://www.iceagetrail.org/) which is a thousand-mile footpath that winds throughout Wisconsin.

Kewaunee is the center of the “Schooner Coast”, the shoreline between Manitowoc in the south and Sturgeon Bay in the North, all shipbuilding and fishing cities, and a fascinating graveyard of shipwrecks from the age of schooners plying these waters as cargo vessles. May wrecks, including the famous recently discovered “Christmas Ship” which sank just south of Kewaunee after failing to make Kewaunee harbor in a storm 100 years ago
